A federal grand jury has indicted Johntelle Bona Millens, 40, of Boonville, Missouri, on charges related to drugs and firearms. The indictment alleges that Millens possessed a Heckler and Koch VP9 9 mm semi-automatic handgun between June 17 and July 24, 2025, in Cooper and Howard Counties. Due to previous felony convictions, Millens is prohibited under federal law from possessing firearms. Additionally, the indictment claims he possessed methamphetamine and cocaine with intent to distribute in Cooper County on July 24, 2025.
Officials emphasized that these charges are accusations and not evidence of guilt. “Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence,” according to the release.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren E. Kummerer. The investigation involved the Boonville Police Department, Cooper County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
This prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America—a national initiative led by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration and dismantling criminal organizations.
