On January 25, 2026, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri announced that it will operate on a full telework status on Monday, January 26, due to inclement weather. As a result, the front counters at both the Thomas F. Eagleton Courthouse in St. Louis and the Rush H. Limbaugh Sr. Courthouse in Cape Girardeau will be closed to public access.
According to the court’s statement: “Due to inclement weather, the district court will be on full telework status on Monday, January 26, 2026. The front counters at the Thomas F. Eagleton Courthouse in St. Louis and the Rush H. Limbaugh Sr. Courthouse in Cape Girardeau will not be open for public access. Court staff will be accessible electronically by email and by contacting (314)244-7900 for the Eastern and Northern Divisions (St. Louis and Hannibal) and the Southeastern Division (573)331-8800 in Cape Girardeau. Filers may use CM/ECF as usual.”
Court staff remain available through electronic communication channels or by phone for those needing assistance with matters related to cases in St. Louis, Hannibal, or Cape Girardeau divisions. The court also confirmed that its Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system remains operational for filers.
