A former member of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club, Mark A. Crump, was sentenced on Mar. 12 to 80 months in federal prison without parole for his role in an assault against a rival motorcycle club member in North Kansas City, Missouri.
The sentencing follows an incident on July 20, 2023, when Crump and two others attacked a lone rival at a bar and grill. The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address violent crime linked to organized groups.
According to court documents, Crump—also known as “Navajo”—along with Jarrid A. Hammer and Mark A. Cottman, assaulted the victim after Hammer declared their intent to shut down the rival club. The three men knocked the victim to the ground and repeatedly stomped, kicked, and punched him while wearing steel-toed boots. The victim suffered serious injuries including a brain contusion, rib fracture, hemothorax, pulmonary contusion, pneumothorax, and traumatic brain injury before being transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
Hammer pleaded guilty on June 18, 2025; Cottman pleaded guilty on Nov. 4, 2025. Both are awaiting sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bradley K. Kavanaugh and Robert Smith prosecuted the case following investigations by multiple agencies including the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations.
This prosecution is part of the Homeland Security Task Force initiative established by Executive Order 14159: Protecting the American People Against Invasion. The task force brings together several federal agencies with a focus on dismantling criminal organizations operating within and outside U.S. borders.
