Two residents of Independence, Missouri, April Henderson, 46, and Donnell Timley, 51, have been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to drug trafficking and firearms offenses. The indictment alleges that both individuals conspired to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana. They are also charged with possessing firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes. Additionally, Timley faces an indictment for being a felon in possession of firearms.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) executed a search warrant at the pair’s residence on August 28, 2025. During the search, agents reportedly found significant quantities of controlled substances: 1.1 kilograms of cocaine, 317 grams of powder fentanyl, 100 fentanyl pills, ten pounds of marijuana, and eight ounces of suspected liquid PCP. Authorities also recovered five firearms and more than $66,000 in cash from the home. Henderson and Timley were arrested and made their initial court appearances on August 29.

“The charges contained in this indictment are simply accusations, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Heather Siegele is prosecuting the case. The investigation involved multiple agencies including the DEA as well as support from Kansas Highway Patrol, Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and Independence Police Department.

The prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America—a nationwide initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and dismantling criminal organizations through collaboration among Department of Justice resources such as Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
