A Kansas City man has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison without parole for illegal firearms offenses and marijuana distribution. Nathan Caldwell, Jr., 34, received the sentence from Chief U.S. District Judge Brian C. Wimes. Caldwell, Jr. was classified as a career offender because of previous felony convictions.

Caldwell, Jr.’s father and co-defendant, Nathan Caldwell, Sr., also known as “Prince Bossalinie,” was sentenced on August 7, 2025, to more than 21 years in federal prison.

On September 4, 2025, Caldwell, Jr. pleaded guilty to engaging in firearm sales without a license, three counts of being a felon in possession of firearms, and three counts of distributing marijuana.

Between December 20, 2023 and April 17, 2024, a confidential informant purchased multiple firearms and drugs from both men at Caldwell Sr.’s residence. The purchases included a total of 19 firearms from Caldwell Sr., along with drugs such as methamphetamine and cocaine. The informant bought three firearms and about 460 grams of marijuana from Caldwell Jr.

On May 8, 2024, investigators executed a search warrant at the residence after the sale of a Glock pistol equipped with a machine gun conversion device by Caldwell Sr. During the search they recovered weapons and additional drugs from both men.

Caldwell Jr.’s criminal history includes prior felony convictions for assault in the first degree and other violent offenses.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica L. Jennings prosecuted the case following an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America—a Department of Justice initiative focused on fighting violent crime and drug trafficking through collaboration between federal agencies like the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri and law enforcement partners across Missouri’s western counties.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri manages prosecutions across its jurisdiction that stretches from Iowa to Arkansas borders with offices located in Kansas City, Jefferson City and Springfield.
