A Kansas City man known as “The Mayor” was sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison for drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession. Ricky Lee Myers, 63, received his sentence from U.S. District Court Judge Roseann A. Ketchmark and will also serve six years of supervised release.

Myers had pleaded guilty on May 21, 2025, to possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime.

According to court documents, federal agents executed a search warrant on October 23, 2024, at a residential structure built by Myers in a homeless camp located off East 23rd Street between Vine Street and Highland Avenue in Kansas City. The area is within close proximity to a school. During the search, agents found approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine and a firearm inside Myers’ residence.

“This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean T. Foley. It was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.”
