A former resident of Mexico, Missouri, Emrah Eymez, was sentenced on March 11 to 25 years in federal prison for using a nine-year-old child to produce child pornography.

The sentencing took place in Jefferson City before U.S. District Judge Steven R. Bough. Eymez, age 40, pleaded guilty to attempted production of child pornography involving a victim under the age of twelve between March 11 and April 2, 2024. The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement and prosecutors to address crimes against children.

According to court documents, the mother of the victim contacted authorities after discovering extensive cell phone communication between Eymez and her daughter. The exchanges included nude images and a sexually explicit video sent by the child to Eymez. Upon release from prison, Eymez will be required to register as a sex offender and will face lifetime supervision under both federal and state requirements.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ashley S. Turner prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. The prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide.
