A Mexican national has pleaded guilty in federal court in Kansas City, Missouri, to illegally reentering the United States after being deported multiple times. Ibrahim Orozzo-Ramirez, 30, admitted to returning to the country following a 2019 conviction for stealing a motor vehicle in Jackson County, Missouri.
Orozzo-Ramirez was deported on July 17, 2019, from Brownsville, Texas, after his felony conviction. He later reentered the United States without obtaining consent from either the Attorney General or the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. He was arrested on February 1, 2025, in Kansas City by special agents with the Department of Homeland Security.
Prior to this incident, Orozzo-Ramirez had been deported twice before: once on November 17, 2017, via Brownsville and again on November 2, 2018, via El Paso following a federal conviction for improper entry by an alien in New Mexico.
Under federal law, Orozzo-Ramirez faces up to 20 years in prison without parole and up to three years of supervised release. The final sentence will be determined by the court based on advisory guidelines and statutory factors. A sentencing hearing is set for January 6, 2026.
“This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick D. Daly. It was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Enforcement and Removal Operations (“ERO”) and Homeland Security Investigations (“HSI”).”
The prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America. According to officials: “This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
