A Mexican national has been sentenced in Kansas City, Missouri, for illegally reentering the United States after being deported following a conviction for an aggravated felony.
Marcos Martinez-Jimenez, 42, pleaded guilty to unlawful reentry after deportation for an aggravated felony. U.S. District Judge Greg Kays sentenced him to 25 months in prison on September 17, 2025.
Court documents show that Immigration & Customs Enforcement officers arrested Martinez-Jimenez on February 11, 2025, during a vehicle stop in Kansas City. He had previously been convicted of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child Under 14 in Johnson County, Kansas, in 2007 and was sentenced to 61 months in prison. After serving his sentence, he was deported to Mexico in 2011.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brent Venneman prosecuted the case. The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), Chicago Field Office, Kansas City Sub-Office.
