An Odessa, Missouri man has pleaded guilty in federal court to possessing a firearm that was used in a shooting incident in Kansas City, Missouri. Gary D. Holcomb II, 38, entered his plea before U.S. District Judge Greg Kays to one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
According to the written plea agreement, Holcomb admitted that during the early morning hours on September 30, 2025, he was in an alley behind a residence in Kansas City. He acknowledged possessing a semi-automatic AR-style rifle with a large capacity magazine and firing at another individual before fleeing the area in an SUV. Holcomb also admitted to having multiple felony convictions, including a prior federal conviction for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Under federal law, Holcomb faces up to 15 years in prison without parole. The final sentence will be determined by the court after consideration of advisory sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors following completion of a presentence investigation by the United States Probation Office.
