A Springfield, Missouri man has been sentenced to nearly five years in federal prison for his role in an armed assault against a rival motorcycle club member. Brandon S. Hodge, also known as “Youngblood,” 26, received a sentence of 57 months without parole from U.S. District Judge Greg Kays for assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering.
The incident occurred on September 17, 2022, when Hodge and twelve other members of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club and their support club pursued a lone rival gang member off the road in Blue Springs, Missouri. According to authorities, several participants were armed with firearms and at least one axe handle. The group confronted the victim on the roadside, where the individual was shot seven times, sustaining injuries to the knee, thigh, forearm, biceps, buttocks, and back of the leg. Hodge and others left before law enforcement arrived.
Following this event, some participants—including Hodge—were awarded club patches for their involvement.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bradley K. Kavanaugh and Robert Smith prosecuted the case. The investigation involved multiple agencies: the FBI; Independence Police Department; Blue Springs Police Department; Homeland Security Investigations; and Kansas City Police Department.
This prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation that focuses on dismantling major criminal organizations through coordinated efforts among various agencies. More information about OCDETF can be found at https://www.justice.gov/OCDETF.
