A St. Charles County man pleaded guilty on Friday to a federal drug charge after authorities found 2.7 kilograms of methamphetamine in his home following two undercover purchases.
Christopher P. Decker, 47, entered a plea in U.S. District Court in St. Louis to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
According to court documents, the Multi-County Narcotics Violent Crime Enforcement Unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) learned about Decker’s involvement in drug trafficking activities. In June 2021, law enforcement made two controlled buys from Decker at his residence, each time purchasing two ounces of methamphetamine for $1,400.
After these transactions, DEA agents obtained a search warrant for Decker’s home. During the search, investigators discovered large quantities of methamphetamine stored in a safe located in his bedroom and inside his washing machine. The total amount seized was 2.7 kilograms. Authorities also recovered a handgun during the search.
Decker has a prior conviction from 2005 in U.S. District Court in St. Louis for conspiracy to possess pseudoephedrine with reasonable cause to believe it would be used for manufacturing methamphetamine.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 22.
The case was investigated by Franklin County’s Multi-County Narcotics and Violent Crime Enforcement Unit and the DEA. Assistant U.S. Attorney Phillip Voss is prosecuting the case.
