A St. Louis County man has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a carjacking incident involving a 72-year-old victim in 2023.

Kirk Hall, 24, admitted guilt to one count of carjacking and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. According to court documents, Hall was one of two individuals who stole a BMW X5 on July 7, 2023. The incident occurred shortly before 1:00 a.m., when the victim parked his vehicle at an apartment complex in St. Louis County.

Hall and another armed individual approached the driver and passenger, ordering them out of the vehicle. The second gunman then took the BMW along with the driver’s cell phone and other personal items, while Hall followed in another vehicle. Authorities later found the BMW unoccupied several hours after the theft.

Hall is scheduled for sentencing on February 18, 2026. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison for the firearm charge, which must be served consecutively to any sentence imposed for carjacking. The carjacking offense carries a potential penalty of up to fifteen years in prison, a fine up to $250,000, or both.

The St. Louis County Police Department conducted the investigation into this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nichole Frankenberg is leading the prosecution.
