A St. Louis County man has been sentenced to over 14 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to multiple drug and firearm offenses. U.S. District Judge Matthew T. Schelp handed down the 170-month sentence on Tuesday.
Quentin Simms, 54, admitted guilt in September to five charges: possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, cocaine base, and heroin; possession of a firearm in connection with drug trafficking; and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to court documents, detectives from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence on Labadie Avenue on May 31, 2024. During the operation, officers found Simms attempting to hide inside a red Dodge Ram near the home. Inside the vehicle, police discovered a large bag of fentanyl capsules, $3,668 in cash, and a loaded Ruger semi-automatic pistol. Further searching led officers to find heroin, cocaine, cocaine base, and a stolen Smith & Wesson pistol.
After being indicted on related charges, Simms was arrested by Deputy U.S. Marshals on October 9, 2024. At that time, authorities seized approximately $1,000 in cash and nearly 28 grams of cocaine base.
The case was investigated by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service. Assistant U.S. Attorney J. Christian Goeke prosecuted the case.
