Thomas C. Albus will continue serving as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri following an appointment by the U.S. District Court on Monday. Albus has held the position since August 1 and was sworn in by Chief U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Clark under 28 United States Code 546, which allows him to serve until a permanent replacement is named.

Albus’s nomination for the role by President Donald J. Trump is currently awaiting confirmation in the U.S. Senate after receiving approval from the Judiciary Committee on October 16.

“I am grateful for the vote of the Court and honored to lead an office of outstanding professionals in the Eastern District of Missouri,” said Albus.
