Kendal “KD” White was sentenced on Mar. 10 to 20 years in prison for his role in the kidnapping of a toddler in St. Louis County, Missouri, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri. U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey handed down the sentence after White pleaded guilty to one count of kidnapping.
Cam’Ron Henderson, 21, of St. Louis, who also pleaded guilty to kidnapping, was previously sentenced in January to 130 months in prison. Both men were involved in an incident that began on Aug. 10, 2023, when they sought out the father of the two-year-old victim over missing firearms and other items.
According to court records, White and Henderson went to the mother’s apartment armed and forced entry when she did not answer the door. After discovering that their intended target was not present, White demanded that the mother hand over her daughter. When she refused, he struck her with his gun before taking the child and fleeing with Henderson.
The case escalated when an Amber Alert was issued describing their vehicle, a Hyundai Elantra. In response, White paid three women to return the toddler safely to her uncle’s home.
“This was an incredibly violent offense,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Szczucinski said during Thursday’s hearing.
The investigation was conducted by the St. Louis County Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The prosecution was led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Szczucinski.
